ABOUT MAGIC

The thing to remember while preparing these recipes, is that you can imbue the item with your own special magic. Make use of various visualizations. Play the appropriate music and burn incense and or candles. Get into the proper mood and create the proper setting before you begin. Color is important as is scent and the good loving vibrations you can instill. You may be able to buy similar products but they will not have the quality of ingredients nor the uniqueness only you can provide. Always treat you materials with respect and remember to give thanks to Mother Nature for Her bounty. Happy creating!

GENERAL TIPS AND PRECAUTIONS

Before beginning any of these projects, take a moment to read this page. The following is a list of do's and don'ts that will help to assure you of a good, safe product:

ALWAYS USE FRESH INGREDIENTS. EVEN DRIED HERBS HAVE A SHELF LIFE. OILS CAN GO RANCID.

MAKE SURE ALL YOU COOKING UTINSELS ARE CLEAN. IT"S BEST TO USE GLASS FOR COOKING (heat proof of course) AND PORCELAIN OR STAINLESS STEEL FOR YOUR SPOONS, ETC. NEVER ALUMINUM.

ALWAYS USE CLEAN, DRY CONTAINERS FOR STORAGE.

HOT OILS AND BEESWAX CAN MAKE A NASTY BURN. ALWAYS HEAT OVER HOT WATER AND HANDLE WITH CARE.

ALWAYS BE SURE YOUR CONTAINERS ARE SUITABLE FOR POURING HOT LIQUIDS INTO. MANY CONTAINERS ARE NOT AND WILL BREAK.

IF YOU HAVE A WOUND THAT WON"T HEAL OR SHOWS SIGNS OF INFECTION, SEE A HEALTH CARE PROVIDER. THESE PRODUCTS ARE NOT MEANT TO REPLACE MORE LEARNED ATTENTION IN SERIOUS CASES.

USE CAUTION WHEN USING REAL ESSENTIAL OILS. SOME CAN IRRITATE SKIN. WHEN USING SCENTED OILS, BE SURE THEY ARE SAFE TO USE ON YOUR SKIN.

HAVE FUN!

PERSONAL POWER BODY OIL

FOR PROTECTION, TO STRENGTHEN PSYCHIC POWERS AND HEALING

2 tbs. dried Lavendar flowers 1/2 cup Sunflower oil 2 tbs. dried Marigold flowers 2 tbs Sesame oil 2 tbs dried Chamomile flowers 1 tsp Avocado oil 2 vitamin E capsules 1tsp liquid Lanolin Sandalwood Oil

Begin this project 13 days before the full moon. Mix all oils except the Sandalwood and heat gently over hot water in a double boiler until just body temperature. Not too hot! Add the dried flowers and stir to coat with the oils. Pour into jar with a tight lid and let stand on a sunny window sill for 13 days. Place a Quartz crystal that has been cleansed in salt water near by. Shake gently every day. This keeps the oils warmed by the sun and helps the herbs to release their properties. It also allows the mixture to gather from the sun (protection) and the moon (psychic power) and the crystal (healing). On the 13 th day, strain off the flowers and to the resulting oil mixture, add the Sandalwood Oil and the contents of the 2 Vitamin E capsules and mix gently.

These flowers not only have strong magical associations (Lavendar; protection / Marigold; psychic ability / Chamomile; healing) but all are wonderful skin softeners and healers. And the Sesame oil is a natural sunscreen.

You now have a lovely, light, beautifully perfumed oil that is great for your skin and your spirit. Sandalwood has long been associated with protection, healing and psychic ability and that is one reason I have used it in this recipe. If you prefer a different scent, by all means use it instead. It will not interfer with the qualities of the oil and it will be more "you." Store this liquid in a glass container in your favorite color.

GOLDEN MOON DROPS

A NIGHT LOTION TO PROMOTE PEACEFUL SLEEP AND REVITALIZE SKIN

1 tbs Comfrey Root 1/2 cup Sunflower oil 1 tbs Chamomile flowers 2 tbs Sesame oil 1 tbs Vervain 2 tsp Avocado oil 2 tbs Lavendar flowers 1 tbs liquid lecithin 1 tsp liquid Lanolin 1 tsp Jojoba oil 2 Vitamin E capsules 1 tsp Lemon oil

Begin this project 13 days before the full moon. Mix all oils except Lemon oil and heat gently to about body temperature. Mix in the herbs and be sure all are coated with oil. Cover and set on a sunny sill for thirteen days. If you have a green stone such as Jade or Emerald, place it near the container. Shake the container gently, every day. The herbs will draw the power of the sun and moon as well as the rejuvenating and healing power of the Jade or Emerald. On the 13 th day, strain off the herbs and gently heat the remaining oil. Add the liquid lecithin and stir until well mixed. Remove from heat and continue to stir, adding the contents of the Vitamin E capsules and the lemon oil. Use this lotion every night to promote peaceful sleep and to help your skin grow or stay young. The herbs and oils in this recipe have been chosen for their magical and medicinal abilities to that end.

PLeasant dreams..!

SESAME SUN OIL

1/2 cup Sesame Oil 1 tbs liquid Lecithin 2 tbs Lanolin

Warm ingredients together and mix thoroughly, stirring as the oils cool.

This recipe is so simple you won't believe how effective it is until you try it. You can add a scented oil if you like. Just be sure whatever you use is safe for use on skin. Sesame oil is a natural sunscreen and it really works.

LABEL: SHAKE WELL

Store this liquid in an amber glass bottle. The amber color of the liquid and the amber ray of the glass will serve to enhance the protective quality.

MAGICAL BATH SALTS

1 1/2 cups Sea Salt Food Coloring 1 1/2 cups Epsom Salts Perfume Oil

Combine the two salts and mix well. To color the salts just start by mixing a few drops of food coloring at a time until you get the desired shade. Likewise with the scented oil. Just remember it's easier to add more color or scent than it is to add more salts. You could end up with enough for the neighborhood. Blending is the key to this very simple recipe. You can really get creative here. The magic is not only in the color and the scent, but what you yourself put into the visualizations. Here are a few color and scent ideas. You take it from there.

LOVE: PINK/ROSE

HAPPINESS: YELLOW/JASMINE

PEACE: BLUE/GARDENIA

PUREFICATION: WHITE/LEMON

HEALING: GREEN/LAVENDAR

COURAGE: RED/ROSEGERANIUM

Store these salts in clear glass jars and bottles. Tie appropriately collored ribbons around them.

BATH POWDERS

1 cup plain talcum powder, 1 cup cornstarch, 10 to 20 drops of perfume or scented oil

This is another easy one with endless possibilities. Just put the talc and cornstarch in you blender. Start at low speed and gradually increase until it is whirling smoothly at the highest speed. ¶ou should be able to take the lid off without dust flying. Drop the scent in slowly, a little at a time. Put the cover back on and whirl for a little longer. Thats all there is to it! Coloring can be added, but I prefer to leave the powder white and store it in appropriately colored jars.

FACIAL MASKS

NORTH SEA MINERAL MASK

1/3 cup green clay 1/4 tsp sea salt 1/4 cup kelp Mineral water

Mix dry ingredients. Store in a glass jar with a tight lid. When you are ready to use, mix about a teaspoon of mask with a few drops of mineral water. Just enough to get a thick consistency that will stay put on your face. Remove with cool water. Use two or three times a week if your skin is not too dry. The clay will smooth and tighten the pores. The sea salt will draw out impurities. The kelp will supply needed trace elements. Clean your face first and apply the mask. Now get into a bath scented with your own personal bath salts. How wonderful!

HONEY YOGURT MASK

1 tbs honey 1tbs yogurt 1/4 tsp Avocado oil

Mix these ingredients together and apply to your clean face. This is especially good for dry skin. The yogurt supplies the alpha hydroxy to gently exfoliate. The avocado oil softens and the honey moisturizes. What a wonderful combination! You will look and feel great.

SENSUAL MASSAGE OIL

1 cup Apricot oil 2 to 4 Vitamin E caps 1 cup Avocado oil 1/8 tsp scented oil

Mix the Apricot and Avocado oils together. Pierce the Vitamin E capsules with a pin and squeeze the contents into the oil. Mix in the scented oil and store in a lovely bottle. That's it. Oh, yes. Enjoy! This a really good place to let your imagination run away with you. The simplest recipes are often the most fun for that very reason. I like these oils especially for massage. They are light, smoothing and moisturizing. Use any scent that appeals to you or that evokes the mood you want. Try Vanilla. Many people find it very sensual.

RELAXING MASSAGE OIL

1 quart Sunflower oil 1 tsp Sage oil 1 tsp Rosemary oil

Mix the oils together, bottle and set aside for a few days to let the scent develope. This oil is excellent for tired, achy muscles. Pour a little oil into you hand and rub to warm. Take you time with this one and gently rub into the muscles until they feel relaxed. It will be worth it!

SAGE WONDER

FOR STINGS, INSECT BITES AND POISON IVY

6 tbs Heal Everything Balm 1/4 tsp Sage oil

Heat the H.E.B. very gently over hot water. When it is completely melted, add the sage oil. Stir until well mixed. Remove from heat and continue stirring until the mixture turns opaque. Pour into a blue bottle with a tight lid. The sooner you can apply this to the effected area the better it will work. If you are the outdoor type, you may want to keep a small jar of this in your first aid kit.

TO MAKE A CREAM

Any of the oils in this book can be made into a cream following these instructions.

1/2 cup of Herbal oil 1 tbs Beeswax 2 tbs liquid Lecithin 1 tbs Cocoa Butter

Melt the beeswax and the cocoa butter over hot water. Add the lecithin and mix well. Remove from heat and stir in oil. Continue stirring until the mixture turns opaque. Pour into a pretty jar, cover and cool. You may need to experiment with the amounts of oil and beeswax. To make a softer cream, add more oil. To make a stiffer cream, add more beeswax.
